First Steps (Ages 1-5)

Welcome to First Steps

Our First Steps Program, created for children ages 1–5, introduces little ones to the joy of movement in a fun and encouraging setting. With playful music, imaginative activities, and lots of smiles, young dancers get to jump, twirl, and stretch while building coordination, confidence, and friendships. It’s a wonderful way for children to express themselves and fall in love with the magic of dance!

First Steps Class Offerings

A creative movement pre-ballet and tap class designed to prepare children for a structured dance experience. Parents are allowed to stay in the room, but are encouraged to participate as little as possible. This makes children comfortable while working towards the goal of dancing on their own.

A combination of creative movement and beginning tap skills are taught in this class designed for our newest little dancers. Our goal is to improve basic motor skills, agility, & rhythm.

A combination of ballet & tap are taught during this class using both classical dance techniques & creative movement. These classes will improve basic motor skills, agility, & rhythm.

Dancers will be introduced to the fundamental techniques of Ballet, Tap, and Jazz through structured and age-appropriate instruction.

A high-energy class that gets little ones moving to fun, kid-friendly music! Dancers learn basic hip hop steps, rhythm, and coordination—all while having a blast and building confidence.

This 45 minute class will introduce dancers to the basics of Jazz. Coordination skills will improve while learning beginning turns, jumps, and fun routines to upbeat and current pop hits they love.

This energetic class is created for little dancers who want to explore the basics of both Jazz and Tumbling! They'll love moving to their favorite pop hits all while increasing coordination and flexibility.

From Studio to Stage

Even our youngest dancers get the chance to shine on stage! All students in our First Steps programs have the opportunity to participate in a December holiday show, as well as our year-end recital in June.
Preparing for a recital is a way for dancers to work on memorization skills, rhythm, technique, teamwork, and much more… they LOVE having something to be proud of, and it shows!
